CHANA FLAT IN SPOT MARKETS, ARRIVALS STEADY

Chana was sideways in major mandies from last trading day. On futures contracts higher margins were imposed by NCDEX. The exchange on Wednesday informed that it will be increasing minimum initial margin by 10% of the value of contract or Variance based margin whichever is higher. The margin will take effect from 12 April 2012. NCDEX informed that the special margin, additional margin or any other margin levied shall be above the minimum initial margin.
The Spot prices of Chana in Delhi was steady. The Akola mix variety was at R 3600 per quintal, unchanged from Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chapa variety was stable at R 3700 per quintal. Total arrivals of Chana were 3.20 Lakh bags.
